Electric Bill.. Are You Freaking Kidding Me?
Greetings from cyberspace! I am going to put it out there that I am mad as hell. December, my electric bill was almost $600. January, it was OVER $600. So what has the BF done to investigate this... NOTHING! And why? He does not want to get cold while turning off the breaker to see what the freak. No wonder we are in debt. The utility bill is almost as much as our space rent. And he wonders why I stress about this. Well, I have a solution for this. Being that the utilities are HIS responsibility to pay. Either figure out what is going on, or cough up the money. And I know what should have been done. That $1,000 allocated for the 'house' projects should have gone to the electric bill. But that was his choice, and my stupidity that let it happen. Oh - and he wants to go to Vegas to see the Blue Man Group. And he wants to go in March. Really... oh I don't think so. Not until we get this power bill under control. Grrrrrrrrr...

Definitely stick to those last words; if there's a trip coming up, deduct the extra electric bill from the would-be trip budget. (If your normal bill was $300 and now it's $600, deduct the $300 from the trip budget), and if there's not enough money, trip ain't happening, or it will be a lot more frugal than expected. I can't understand someone who would rather pay an incredibly high bill vs investigate and negociate it... you can also call the electric company and have them analize. They may discover what's wrong.

ReplyDeleteWOW. Any chance it could be a neighbors combined with yours? We live in row homes and they once billed me for mine and my neighbors. They fixed it the next month but still that is a whole lot of money
