Automation = Reduction

Greetings from cyberspace! Today I set up the last item I am able to automate at this time.  So what is automated?

  • Child Support Payment
  • Mortgage Payment
  • Trailer Payment
  • Buttercup’s Health Insurance
  • Loan Payment
  • Car Insurance
  • Newspaper
  • Fast-Trak Express Pass
  • Miscellaneous Subscriptions

It’s exhausting, but well worth it.  It reduces the amount of time and money spent on envelopes, checks, stamps… love it.  The only checks I write is for our space rent and when I need to transfer money to my credit union.  And I am sure I can automate that too.  I just need to get the correct account ID.  Mmmm… sounds like a project for this weekend!

  1. I'm a bit scared of setting up automation, but I think I am ready for it and it's in my to-do list of research topics.

  2. The key to the automation is the budget.

  3. Tanner - one way you can make sure your information is protected - use your banks bill paying feature to put in all of your other account information. Have the bank send the check or payment directly. Try to avoid putting your banking information on too many other websites. This will help protect your information. Obviously, your bank already knows your account numbers and such, and this way, you're not giving (even implied) authorization to other companies regarding your bank account numbers.

    This is a big time saver - and money saver.

    And Rhitter - I am loving the more frequent blog posts. I enjoy your blog a lot.

  4. I don't like that approach, from what I've heard they can take money from your account for anything like extra fees or errors on bills- I rather log in to bill pay every month and pay the amounts, takes 10 minutes at most...

    What if you suddenly lost income or there was an error at the with your money?

    1. Most of the automation I control. I set it up via my bank. There are only a few of these I had set up by giving them a card.
